Phil Spector to appear in no-holds barred documentaryLegendary producer Phil Spector is to appear in a special TV documentary to be screened in the autumn.
The star, has agreed to give his first interview in 35 years to Vikram Jayanti, co-producer of the Oscar-winning Muhammad Ali documentary 'When We Were Kings', for a candid Arena documentary for the BBC.
The 90-minute documentary, subtitled 'The Agony And The Ecstasy of Phil Spector, is being filmed during his current trial.
In the programme, Spector opens up about his fears that his musical legacy will be forever overshadowed by the murder case.
He also reflects on working with John Lennon, his rivalry with Brian Wilson and the musical influences that gave rise his 'Wall of Sound' prod.
According Jayanti, the final cut of the film, which Spector agreed to after the director wrote to him following his arrest, will depend on the outcome of the trial in which he is accused of shooting dead actress Lana Clarkson, reports The Times.
"Our interviews have covered an awful lot of ground, including the trial," he said. "The position the defence has taken is that she killed herself. I'm sort of trying to stay out of issues of guilt or innocence.
"I'm more interested in this strange collision between an artistic genius and the criminal justice system."

MIA has reportedly cancelled her performance at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend.
The London rapper was set to play the Park stage on Friday (June 22) at 9:30 pm, but will no longer perform and has not given a reason for her cancellation, reports the Guardian.
This follows MIA's cancellation of her performance at the Sasquatch festival in the US last month.
No replacement for MIA at Glastonbury has yet been confirmed.
The rapper is still set to play several festival dates this summer, including the Siren Festival in New York and Lollapalooza in Chicago, as previously announced.
